Selecting The Right Time To Exercise
When it comes to getting the most out of your exercise sessions, most people look towards intensity, duration, and specific exercises. Is there anything wrong with such an approach? No, it is quite wise because these are extremely important components to developing a healthy and fit body. There are, however, ways in which one can boost their effectiveness. One such method involves selecting the proper time of day to perform their exercises.
Okay, some people may be a little stunned at the notion that performing certain exercises at a specific time of the day will aid in boosting the success of the exercise. Does this not sound like a hocus pocus superstitious method of exercising? Well, it may sound like that on the surface but when you look a little closer you will discover it is a lot more realistic than some assume. Why is this? It is because the time of the day you exercise can have a significant impact on your ability to burn stored calories.
In terms of strength training, cardiovascular endurance, or simply cutting a few calories, you can work out any time of the day or night. But, if you want to maximize your weight loss potential, there are certain times of the day that will aid in facilitating the goals in an easier manner.
Performing a cardio exercise the first thing in the morning can certainly burn a ton of stored calories. Why is this? Your stomach will be completely empty when you wake up. If you start to work out before you eat breakfast, the calories you burn will have to be stored fat. There are no newly ingested calories to burn. As such, hitting the cardio bike for a half hour early in the morning will greatly enhance the ability to drop weight.
On the flipside, it can help to lift heavy weights later at night. Sometimes, lifting weights after 6pm may prove to be a smart move for those that want to get into great shape. The reason here centers on the effect that weightlifting will have on the body. When you lift weight and overwork the muscles, they will need to repair themselves in order to grow. This occurs during the resting stage. So, if you lift weights late at night, you will find the body repairs the muscles while you sleep and this will require the body to burn a ton of calories. Those calories will be burned throughout the night which certainly will prove helpful for those wanting to get into great shape.
However, it is advised not to work out too early or too late because you want to be awake and alert when you perform your exercises. If you are sluggish or moving slowly, you will not deliver the results needed to impact your body to a significant degree. Keep that in mind when you select a time of the day to exercise.
Does that mean that if you workout in the middle of the day you won’t see any results? No, you will gain benefits from an exercise no matter when you perform it and at any intensity level. But, there are times of the day where you can boost the impact of an exercise.
